You can place the job block that corresponds to the job you're looking for next to Unemployed Villager if you want to apply for a job. The job that is assigned to the villager will determine the kind of trades they can offer. Villagers can be removed from their job block if you do not have a villager unemployed. Villager Appearance:

Not only do villager's jobs change based on their profession, but their appearance will differ in each biome. To ensure each job remains distinct, they maintain certain specific characteristics to their job. For instance Farmers all wear a straw hat, and all Librarians have glasses.

Stock trading

As of 1.14, Mojang has introduced the delightful concept of 'Supply and demand.' This basically means that if you execute an item trade too many times, not only will the villager run out of stock in the item you are trading for and prices (amount of jewels or items you need to offer) will also increase when the item is traded often. Trades can be made up to four times before the stock runs out. Villagers replenish their stock every day. The price of an item will decrease when it's not traded.

Unlocking Trades:

Both players and villager gain experience when they trade. The next tier of trades can be unlocked once villagers level up. There are five levels of trades available to each villager to unlock higher quality items. The level of a villager is displayed by the color of their badge on their clothing. It ranges from Novice(Stone), Apprentice(Iron), Journeyman(Gold), Expert(Emerald), up to Master(Diamond).

Wandering Trader

This is a little different however there is a villager who acts nothing like the rest. The Wandering Trader is a passive mob, much like normal Villagers, however it appears randomly across the world with seemingly no pattern at all. It is equipped with two trading llamas which are similar to normal llamas, but with a cosmetic modification. Minecraft Another peculiarity about this Villager is its lack of trading levels. This means that the trades you've taken with him will remain yours for the duration of time. Fear not though, for his trades will reset the next time he spawns.

The trades of the Wandering Trader are often difficult to find and obscure. Not particularly impressive or powerful, but valuable nevertheless. Be quick, because the Wandering Trader will disappear after 40-60 minutes.

Popularity:

As an individual player, you are able to enjoy a level of popularity. This is reduced by taking negative actions such as attacking villagers and gaining popularity by trading frequently or curing zombie villager. Negative actions raise prices, while positive actions decrease them.

Let's say that Illagers attack your village without warning. You happen to be in the vicinity and you are able to fend off the attack. You will be rewarded with the 'Hero of the Village" status effect, which will also reduce the cost of trade (except for trades that cost 1 Emerald). Minecraft Servers

These are the fundamentals of villager jobs as well as village trading. You should now be able to manage your villager farm like a pro! Mojang believes that it is necessary to take the carpet off right under our feet often and, for better or worse, trading can be a little more complex with Supply & Demand mechanics, along with the popularity function. You can exploit these features to either greatly help you, or even cause havoc to the trading economy on your Minecraft server. I hope you found this article useful.
